Application Process

  1. If you aspire to serve in the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) as a Commissioned Officer, you must follow a structured application process. The online registration for the 2025 recruitment drive will be open from 3rd February to 16th February 2025. Candidates are required to register online through the PAF official website and undergo multiple stages of testing and selection.
  2. The first step in the process is online registration. Candidates must visit www.joinpaf.gov.pk and complete the registration form by providing accurate personal, educational, and contact details. After submitting the form, candidates will receive a registration slip, which they must bring to the PAF Selection Center on the test day.
  3. After successful registration, candidates must appear for the initial tests, which are conducted at PAF Selection Centers across Pakistan. The first test is an intelligence test, designed to assess logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Following this, candidates must take an academic test based on their selected course. For General Duty Pilot (GD P) and Air Defence, the test subjects include English, Physics, and Mathematics. Candidates applying for technical branches like Aeronautical Engineering must take tests in Physics, Mathematics, and relevant technical subjects. Those applying for non-technical branches, such as Education, IT, Legal, or Accounts, will be tested in their respective fields.
  4. Candidates who pass the initial tests will undergo a medical examination and an interview at their designated PAF Selection Center. The medical test ensures that candidates meet the physical and medical standards set by the PAF. Those who qualify in this phase will be shortlisted for the ISSB (Inter Services Selection Board), which is mandatory for Permanent Commission candidates. The ISSB test includes a psychological assessment, group discussions, leadership tasks, and a personal interview to evaluate a candidate’s mental, emotional, and leadership abilities.
  5. Once the ISSB process is completed, candidates will be called for a final medical examination at Combined Military Hospital (CMH). Those who clear the final medical test will be considered for selection, and a final merit list will be announced on the PAF official website and at Selection Centers. Selected candidates will then receive their joining instructions and report for training at PAF academies.
  6. It is crucial for applicants to bring all necessary documents during their registration and selection process. These documents include the original CNIC/NADRA Smart Card, Matric and Intermediate certificates (or equivalent), domicile certificate, and passport-sized photographs (attested). Selection centers are located in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mianwali, Abbottabad, Gilgit, and Muzaffarabad.
